"Witch Hunt" Started Officially in Russia

Today at plenary session of the State Duma the deputy from fraction "Edinaya Russia" proposed to charge Commissions on mandatory questions and questions of deputy ethics "to esteem actions of deputy Ponomarev connected to support of public organizations which activity is directed on destabilization of political situation in the country and is financed from foreign sources".

Actually, it's a question of such structures as the Left front, one of the members of which Council is Ilya Ponomarev, probably, it's a question of idea about Institute "Collective Action" - to tell you the truth, it's not quite so clear how the deputy is formally connected to this structure. On the other hand thousand people receiving help and support are connected to it.

As a whole Ponomarev today is, probably, the only deputy of the State Duma whom the left can address for help - unfortunately, there's no sense for the left movement to wait for help from fraction of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. More likely, on the contrary. The authority found out that painful point of unparliamentary opposition.

Today to support deputy Ponomarev is a point of honour and conscience of everyone who considers himself a part of opposition to mode, no matter what color of political spectrum he belongs to.

Application of the deputy of State Duma I.V. Ponomarev

On March, 20th at plenary session of State Duma deputy S.V.Zhelesnyak (fraction "Edinaya Russia") offered to charge Commission on mandatory questions and questions of deputy ethics "to esteem actions of deputy Ponomarev connected to support of public organizations which activity is directed on destabilization of political situation in the country and is financed from foreign sources".

First of all I want to remind Mister Zhelesnyak, my colleagues - deputies and journalists that the main sense of activity of the Left front and Institute "Collective Action" - protection of interests of working people, their constitutional laws for work, habitation, provision of pensions. Activity of the left and social active workers, including protest actions, is carried out within the framework of the Russian legislation by which monopolies of neither "Edinaya Russia", nor any other party on protection of interests of citizens of our country is stipulated.

All the more so "numerous independent public organizations" would have no reasons to organize meetings and pickets, if representatives of "party in power" and authority itself would undertake all possible measures to provide all people worthy life. It would be possible to allocate necessary means also on creation of new workplaces instead of distribution of forex holdings between confident bankers, on normal, not humiliating pensions, if authorities would be really interested in it. It would be possible to save huge money on PR of "Edinaya Russia".

There is nothing easier, than to explain own failures by intrigues of "external enemies". Every expert on PR especially the one who used to work in that sphere for many years, as Mr. Zhelesnyak, perfectly knows how to prove empty allegations: first of all to organize "outflow" in known to nobody printed editions or in the Internet and then to refer to this information from high tribune to get away from possible responsibility. There is no proofs and elementary logic in general in this case.

I am sure that appearance of Mr. Zhelesnyak's application right now is not casual. The scandal opening mechanisms of labour relations on the largest telechannel of the country, aggravation of contradictions with housing movements in Moscow, amplified prosecutions of independent trade unions with simultaneous support of their imitation by "Edinaya Russia" - all these demand from party functionaries and their sponsors reaction and justification of their feebleness. What can be better than shifting of responsibility on "force majeure circumstances" - activity of foreign special services!

I regret that mister Zhelesnyak afforded such rash statements to my address as well as to address of the left and social organizations. Though I do not exclude that he did it quite consciously to provoke new attacks on those who not in word but in practice aspires to create social state and civil society in Russia.
